Sit back? You're the one for me who endured this in 4dx. So....I love the trilogy. I love the fresh approach, the original storyline, the logical timing, and the nurturing of the central group of characters and their stories. While I love Caesar to meet his original people at some point in the early hours of the morning and am not sure why they killed the bad guys when his characters could have been so well developed, I'm leaving these things alone. Those who liked the latter were clearly expecting something different from me, although I will respect their opinions and stop labeling them as mindless people by saying that people who don't like it are just stupid but misjudged. It's because we understand and love the trilogy that this is such a disappointment. I've waited years and wanted to love it, but I'd be happy to pretend the whole thing never happened if the new production team would just admit they were wrong and go back to the drawing board. How do you start with a reveal of what happened to Caesar, then shoot off in a completely different direction? The whole plot seems stuck in someone else's plot, not sure what it's trying to accomplish. It's a cryptic, lazy, and completely over-simplified take on the legacy characters, completely cutting off their character legacy, with no explanation of what happened between then and now. I don't get it it's set 300+ years later, nothing makes me think that. So people spent 300+ messing around with laptops in tunnels, I thought they were wiped out? What happened to the original Nova living with APES!! Are we heading towards the original planet, a world dominated by apes, or are they clinging to the living Caesars and allowing life to come close to humans? Think about it! Roka explained a little to Noah that we saw, but kept saying that you have a lot to learn. Koba can write a name in the rising, but the apes can't figure out what the letters mean in this letter. How did the humans catch him? But 2 were saved, why????? Because they were wearing Amani? The gun the camera focuses on was not used, and if it was possible to be on Misson to reach the vault, why did she go to Noah's land? Its half-hearted, lazy, and plot-driven, and I went home to watch the sequel to get over it. Yes, we keep going, but the movie opens with the premise that there will be some connection between then and now, and then abandons it without a plan. It’s the Brexit of movies. Everything about it is done without any real explanation or justification. I wanted to see a continuation of the story, or at least some connection to help me get my bearings, but I’m not having it. They’ve ruined everything the trilogy tried so hard to build and started over with a bunch of crap. The movie is confusing and suffers from an identity crisis. Only love for the characters the original cast had. Very disappointing. Godfather 3 with a hint of Jurassic World domination. Resting on its laurels while trying to forget them. Weird. Just weird. I hope someone comes along and saves this monster from the path it’s found itself on.
