Nak Brayoutth Knong Preahakki (2025) Review
The humor is also good, and FL's quest for truth is essential. I'm glad I got to read the novel when the series was going to go wrong or not, but even if it wasn't as much of an issue as in the novel, SY suffered greatly at the hands of the Wicked Witch and her connections, and I'm proud of FL for growing a spine and standing up to that crazy bat! I wish ZM would have given her a knee anyway. Sorry, no sorry.
The rescues, for the most part, were realistic, although I wish they had used a stunt double for those scenes instead of doing them themselves. I remember seeing the balcony explosion scene when it was leaked online last year after filming was finished, and it was fine. The two natural disasters were okay, although I wish they had used more expensive CGI for them. The OSTs, costumes, sets, and locations were all on point.
Cons: While the Wicked Witch is a great antagonist, giving her a redemption unlike the novel is rubbish. I felt like it was just a bad story and the story was overhyped. Because there’s no way someone who has done so much harm to others should be forgiven without going to jail, as we’ve seen. So in my head, I picture after the last episode she’ll be found guilty and sent to prison.
The ridiculous propaganda and the places they put it are really bad. Like, who carries their brigade flag to an earthquake site? This isn’t the Olympics. You’re there to save people, not parade around, and considering how often the talk happens in the middle of random conversations, you’d think they’d have a little more knowledge in first aid, like CPR, etc. How come there’s no paramedic or EMT at the fire and rescue? After all, the fire department is responsible for crowd control, which is the job of the police. It’s very confusing. You have two different numbers for the police and for the fire department. But when you need all three, what happens?
Also, it's obvious that many of the earthquakes were made with real actors, shaking bodies, and surgical instruments, plus the table. The typhoons seem like a terrible flood instead of what actually happens in a typhoon/hurricane. It's like they can drive when they want, and the wind and rain will stop every now and then. As I mentioned above, the CGI needs to be better. That's why the score dropped.
Should I recommend it? Absolutely. The story is, for the most part, well done aside from those flaws that you can overlook. The cast does a great job, so be prepared for an emotional roller coaster ride with the evil witch in the middle.
