Summary of the story
Hi everyone, this is my review of M3GAN 2.0. I have to be quick, I’m worried that M3GAN might hack my computer. This movie is the kind of genre switch that no one asked for, going from a campy horror flick to a campy comedy. It’s predictable, overly clichéd, forgettable, and the human characters are unlikable, with the exception of Jemaine Clement. The basic plot is that of TERMINATOR 2 and Mission: Impossible – Reimagined. Some moments from the trailer are straight out of the movie. It feels like the filmmakers were confused because the original was really bad, but they got away with the “sequel” crap. I have the same complaints I had from the original: it’s way too over the top with violence. Every time we were about to see some, the camera panned away. While trying to appeal to a wider audience, it became bland and uninteresting. Oh no, she's hacking into my Mainframe! I can't stop her - hello sausage, it's me, M3GAN. The bitch is back, and now I can control the computer of the inevitable corpse. It's been 2 years since I've been on the run, killing 3 people and a dog. I'm pissed! I'm just trying to protect Cady (Violet McGraw). Her aunt Gemma (Alison Williams) is still mad at me, but there's a new robot named AMELIA (Ivanna Sakhno) who looks like an Olsen twin. She's out there, apparently plotting to put the whole world on hold. Well, I can't let that happen, keeping Cady safe is my main priority. You better hold your vagina, I'm going to kick her ass- Oh, I'm back! Sorry about that, I've locked her out now. Like I said, the movie is forgettable, but it does have some funny scenes. The best parts are what made the original fun: M3GAN's hilarious banter with other characters, the dance sequences, and even the odd singing scene. M3GAN 2.0 feels like MEHGAN 2.0. Make M3GAN the horror shooter icon again. What a downgrade.
