Summary of the story
Like other reviewers, I'm rooting for Sharknado, especially in the second half of the movie (looking at friends and exes?). The movie starts with a stereotypical party and character introduction without much depth, but from the main point of the story, we have two female characters with contrasting personalities. This gives me "47 Meters Down" vibes because it's similar to the sister dynamic, and well, they end up in this situation because of the characters. The characters in the movie aren't really the same as the original, but it's a bit refreshing to see the different situations the characters are put in. And it certainly follows the carefree nature of teenagers who don't care about getting drunk, but the setting hasn't changed much in the movie. It's nice to see the reactions of "people who might care about [them]" after they all disappear. Overall the movie was very boring and irritating and I thought the main character didn't seem to have any development because I expected her to be stronger, not only able to cope with the situation but to stand up for herself more. Pity her leaving her ex? (She didn't break up) and her best friend coming all over her and I don't really like the fact that her ex-boyfriend is there? It almost feels like a hero suit which makes him even more of a dislikeable character at least for me.
