Summary of the story
I don't know how to start this review, but I'm going to say in all honesty that this is the best Alien movie we've had in a while. Prometheus is okay, yes, but Covenant isn't all that great, and I believe this movie is a big deal for the franchise and future movies that will come in a new direction. I have a good feeling that the franchise will end up on the map in the film world. There are some people who don't care for Romulus, and of course it's a concept. I completely understand that, but I don't think anyone is going to come back to me with a straight face and tell me that Alien Resurrection 3 or Covenant is better than Romulus. Everything is so well executed, it ties together so well with the timeline without any plot holes being looped through the film. The visual effects are great, and the cast is really interesting, and unlike the promises they're not completely insane. This also includes the main character who in my opinion has a lot of depth built into her personality. With that said, Cailee Spaeny is the perfect candidate for the lead in the upcoming alien franchise. No one can replace Sigourney Weaver. Of course, I agree 100%, but we can still have our close second because she is someone I would love to see return as a main character for a future film. Overall, the film is very good. The setting is amazing. The alien isolation inspiration is perfectly executed, while also being its own work. I can go into a lot without spoiling it, so I encourage you all to watch it for yourself and let me know what you think, even if it’s negative. Great job Fede!
